Aha Moment

Driving to Orlando was pleasant, with good company and not too much traffic, sunny weather and lively conversation. Finding a parking spot was fairly simple. Having an early dinner at Chico's Dirty Tacos and Tequila and enjoying a few vodka cranberries was a great time, and the people watching was nothing less than amazing. Matt & Kim? Amazing show.

Walking to our spot in line along the massive queue of teenagers was a reality check: I am getting too old for concerts. Audience observations? Either I have lost a knack for coolness or these kids had absolutely zero fashion sense. Jorts? Really? They looked like they had raided my closet in 1989. It wasn't even a good kind of interesting dorky. It was stupid and gross. And their age made me feel like an old lady. We literally saw moms dropping kids off in front of the club.

So my thoughts of potentially going to the Kings of Leon and Band of Horses show in Tampa in August have been put aside. I don't want to be reminded again of my elderly status in the world of Indie rock.
